RMCER: Offering support to the community
This is a time for our community to come together to help and support one another and the broader society. To assist those who are vulnerable and in need of assistance in these times, a group of Muslims has come together to form Regina Muslim Community Emergency Response (RMCER).
In order to offer support and services to those who are at risk, RMCER is seeking to collect the information of individuals who want to make use of RMCER’s services. These services include grocery shopping/delivery, medication picks up/drop off, lunch delivery for medical professionals, phone check-ins, as well as the support of international students and Imams. RMCER needs the assistance of the community to offer the best response it can in this unprecedented situation.
RMCER kindly requests the community’s help in two ways:
- If you are in need of these services, please fill out this Service Request Form (https://forms.gle/b4ark7GxZPVLLxE56). In addition, if you are self-isolating, we invite you to fill this form so we can help you get the things you need.
- We are looking for people who can volunteer 5-6 hours a month towards this effort. If you are interested, please fill out this Volunteer Form (https://forms.gle/v6LAeC1HdMLZzi9E6).
Lastly, please spread the word by forwarding or sharing this message and our website (rmcer.com) with anyone who you think can help. Also, share RMCER’s page/posts on social media. And never underestimate word-of-mouth.
We want to take this opportunity to unite and help those in need. Ibn Umar (R) reported: The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to the people.”
This is our time, as Muslims, to shine and serve Allah by serving our community and helping those in need. Thank you for taking the time to read this email, and we hope to hear from you soon.
If you have any questions at all, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
