IAOS New Masjid Update – 641 Victoria Avenue – January 31, 2019

Further to the IAOS Board Statement of AGM & Land Purchase of November 27, 2018, found on our website, the Board is pleased to announce that the IAOS has completed the purchase of the new Mosque land. As of January 29, 2019, the IAOS is now the owner of 641 Victoria Avenue East, Regina, Saskatchewan. Alhamdulillah, we are very thankful for the efforts of everyone who has contributed to this significant milestone.

Inshallah, the next step is to now demolish the building on the property. The cost of the demolition is $145,000 plus tax. Our previous update stated that this money would have to be raised before the demolition work could start. Alhamdulillah, the Board has reached an agreement for the demolition work to start as soon as possible, and for the IAOS to have 6 months to pay for the demolition work. If there are no unexpected delays, the building should be demolished by April 22, 2019, and the IAOS will have until July 31, 2019, to pay the demolition cost of $145,000 plus tax.

In addition to the cost of the demolition, the IAOS must pay GST on the purchase of the land. The Board is working with tax advisors to determine the amount of GST that must be paid on the purchase. We again ask for your generosity to help raise the funds for the demolition and the GST. Please remember, that any donation is for Allah SWT. Your donation is going towards the building of a Masjid, which will give you ajr and reward for each prayer made in that Masjid, each verse of the Quran recited, and every friendship made and maintained in the Masjid for the pleasure of Allah SWT.
